How to Factory Reset Your BlackBerry
Factory Reset Steps
- Open the Options menu from your home screen
- Navigate to Security Options > General Settings
- Press the BlackBerry Menu key (located to the left of the trackball on most models)
- Select Wipe Handheld
- A warning dialog will appear — you can choose to include third-party applications in the deletion
- Select Continue
- Type the word “blackberry” to confirm and initiate the wipe
Tip: Keep your phone plugged in during the wipe process to prevent interruptions.
Before You Reset
- Back up important data
- Deactivate your phone from your carrier
- Remove any passcodes or locks
