How to Factory Reset Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod

Follow these steps to erase all data from your Apple device before selling it to TechPayout.

Before You Reset

  1. Back up your data — Use iCloud or iTunes to save your photos, contacts, and other important information
  2. Sign out of iCloud — Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Sign Out. This disables Find My iPhone and Activation Lock
  3. Sign out of iTunes & App Store — Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iTunes & App Store, tap your Apple ID, and sign out
  4. Deactivate your phone from your carrier

How to Erase Your Device

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Scroll down and tap Transfer or Reset iPhone (or Reset on older iOS versions)
  4. Tap Erase All Content and Settings
  5. Enter your passcode if prompted
  6. Confirm by tapping Erase

Important: Make sure Find My iPhone is turned OFF before shipping your device. Devices received with Activation Lock enabled may receive a reduced quote.
