How to Factory Reset Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod
Follow these steps to erase all data from your Apple device before selling it to TechPayout.
Before You Reset
- Back up your data — Use iCloud or iTunes to save your photos, contacts, and other important information
- Sign out of iCloud — Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Sign Out. This disables Find My iPhone and Activation Lock
- Sign out of iTunes & App Store — Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iTunes & App Store, tap your Apple ID, and sign out
- Deactivate your phone from your carrier
How to Erase Your Device
- Go to Settings
- Tap General
- Scroll down and tap Transfer or Reset iPhone (or Reset on older iOS versions)
- Tap Erase All Content and Settings
- Enter your passcode if prompted
- Confirm by tapping Erase
Important: Make sure Find My iPhone is turned OFF before shipping your device. Devices received with Activation Lock enabled may receive a reduced quote.
